ROAD SAFETY WORKSHOP

VENUE: School auditorium
DATE: 24th April 2015

OBJECTIVES: To sensitize students about the importance of road safety and make them aware about it.
ORGANISING AND PLANNING: The workshop was a part of road safety project in association with Renault, done by students of class 12th. The idea and planning for the entire session was done by an in-house teacher. Practice and planning session was conducted for 15 days before the final programme.
EVENTS: Following activities were conducted:
·       Street Play on the theme “ Road Safety and Road Rage”

·       Open House Discussion: “Should legal driving license age be reduced from 18 to 16 years?”
OUTCOMES:
·       The Event was attended by Students of Class IX- XII and all the Teachers of concerned classes.
·       The students not only enjoyed the session but also came to know about certain aspects which they were previously not aware about such as website of Delhi Traffic Police, their contact number, hardships faced by them.
·       Also, students and teachers participated enthusiastically and put forward their opinion on the theme.
·      The session was concluded by the Honorable Principal, Mr. Ashok Kr. Pandey where he appreciated the efforts of the students and enlightened the young minds by his valuable words of wisdom.

INTERVIEW WITH DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, TRAFFIC

An interview with the Deputy Commissioner was held by the students of Ahlcon International School on 10th April, 2015. The interview was held under the ongoing international project of class XII by Renaults named Road Safety and Mobility.
The interview helped in gaining a  purview of the experienced commissioner on the topic of Road Rage and the several causes behind it. He mentioned the problem of large number of vehicles in Delhi, the stress that causes frustration on road, high temperament of people and the negligence of youngsters about the road rules and regulations.
The interview helped the students Gain an insight of the problem from the Delhi police and the importance of controlling anger and spreading awareness about Road Rules and Regulations in the society.

We realized that incorporating Road safety as a part of school curriculum would be beneficial for both the students and the society as a whole. Also, we understood that having a license doesn't mean enough knowledge about road signs and road rules

Interview - School Bus Drivers

 INTERVIEWS WITH SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS

As a part of Road Safety Project initiated by RENAULT, Students of class XII conducted an interview session with the school bus drivers on 10th April, 2015, during the school working hours.

The idea of the session was to get a real insight into the actual problems faced by the bus drivers on the roads. The respondents were asked different questions related to their experience in driving, their actions and views on critical road rage related situations and also, what do they suggest in controlling the growing problem of Road Rage and lack of Road Safety.


TRAFFIC-ZONE


“TRAFFIC ZONE” 

 VENUE: School Premises

 

OBJECTIVES: To create awareness among students of pre- primary section about road safety and traffic signals.

ORGANISING AND PLANNING: The “Traffic Zone” was prepared by the students of class XII, as one of the activities of the Road safety project organized by RENAULT. The idea and planning for this activity was done by an in- house teacher. Planning and preparation session was conducted for 15 days before its final display on 27th April, 2015.

OUTCOMES

·       For students and teachers of Pre-primary section of the school, there was a brief presentation on traffic signals and road safety by the students of class XII.

·       Students were enthusiastic and were told about traffic signals, zebra crossing, how to cross a road etc.

·       The efforts were appreciated and the activity was concluded by the honorable Principal Sir, Mr. Ashok Kr. Pandey, who visited the area and had a word with both students and teachers.










 









 

Wednesday 15 April 2015

A slogan writing and a poster making activity on the topic 'Road Rage' was conducted in Ahlcon Internaional school on 13/4/2015 for classes 9th and 10th respectively. The activity was held under the ongoing international project for class XII by Renault named Road Safety and Mobility.The activity was organized to revive and sensitize the issue of Road Rage among teenagers.

The students enthusiastically participated in the activity and came up with new ideas about the topic.
